A Bittersweet accord

A dance as old as time, a bittersweet accord.
Was aiming to red do my dancing section between Martin and the faun in my life in color piece, but the source picture I used for Martin turned into half a picture after using the fuzzy select tool which made me wonder if he was phasing in and out of existence. at first, I was still determined to make the half materialized dapper gent Martin phasing into existence through some spell.
after cropping the bottom of the jaw and replacing it with a more beard free jawline I tried all sorts of crazy stunts to try and get the two layers to merge right to no avail I changed the colour values and realized it was actually the devil.
the tone and dynamic of the piece changed after that, and after many filters, a digital a bit of painting and some dodge burns after topped off with a fractal background of the image and I believe I caught something of the cordial animosity between good and evil.
